A shocking murder unfolded in Dehradun’s Bhauwala area early Monday morning when a young man, Rohit Negi, was shot dead in his car over a reported personal rivalry linked to a girl.
Rohit, a property dealer from Selaqui, was called to DBIT Chowk by Azhar Malik around 2:30 a.m. Azhar, who was waiting on a motorcycle, suddenly pulled out a pistol, pressed it against Rohit’s neck while he was seated in the driver’s seat, and fired. Rohit died on the spot, reported Amar Ujala.
The incident caused panic in the area, with residents alerting police, who rushed to the scene and began an investigation. According to the report, the killing stems from an enmity between the two men, reportedly sparked by a dispute involving a girl who lived with Rohit’s friend. Azhar Malik, originally from Muzaffarnagar, remains at large.
SP City Pramod Shah confirmed that police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. Four teams have been deployed to track down Azhar and any accomplices. The deceased’s identity is confirmed, and police are continuing their probe into the motive and circumstances surrounding the murder.
