Dehradun Municipal Corporation Extends 20% House Tax Rebate, Plans Ward-Level Payment Camps To Boost Collections

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) will conduct ward-wise tax collection camps to make it easier for residents to pay their dues, officials said.

Tax Superintendent Rahul Kanthola said teams, working in coordination with local councilors, will visit each ward on a rotational basis to facilitate on-the-spot tax payments. The initiative is aimed at improving convenience and boosting compliance among property owners.

DMC has also extended the 20% rebate on house tax payments for the 2025–26 financial year, with the new deadline set for Feb. 15, 2026. The extension was approved on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal, who urged residents to clear their dues within the revised timeline to avail the discount.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said the civic body has collected Rs 48 crore in house tax so far, against a target of Rs 75 crore for the current financial year.

“With just two months remaining, there is pressure to bridge the gap, but we are confident that the extended rebate and ward-level camps will improve collections and encourage greater taxpayer participation,” Singh said.
