A shocking case has emerged from the 2024 AFT Athlete Games held in Dehradun, where a female athlete was allegedly drugged, assaulted, and blackmailed by a fellow competitor.

The accused is a resident of Rudrapur and is said to have obtained the victim’s contact details from a WhatsApp group and initiated contact, reported Amar Ujala.

According to the victim’s police complaint, she arrived in Dehradun on Sept. 20 to participate in the games and was staying at a local dharamshala.

The accused allegedly visited her room, offering a cold drink laced with a sedative. After consuming it, the athlete lost consciousness, during which the accused reportedly raped her and recorded the act on video.

The accused then threatened to release the video, forcing the victim to stay silent for several months. Following her complaint, city police have registered a case against the accused and the victim has undergone a medical examination.
